An App for this and App for that

I have been trying to live with only my desktop pc and a MagicJack phone number for almost a month now. Let me tell you this has been difficult. Everything under the sun seems to want to text you a message, quite a few places simply won't accept the MagicJack number as a valid number. Quite a few will though and that's nice oddly some of the ones that won't take the MagicJack number will take that Google Voice number leaving a few that just won't take either. The issues with the one number led me to try the Google Voice number. But this is about apps You can't just install an app on a desktop. Remember back in the day everything had desktop software. A lot of apps have versions that you can download thru the Microsoft store or their websites but some of these even seem to want or need you to have the cell phone app as well. I don't have anything that runs android well not android proper. I do have a fire hd 10 that i put the play store on but that's limited to pre android 6 software so a lot simply won't work on that thing. I have found a program called BlueStacks now this program is great and seems to let you do anything android on your computer. Sadly my computer and older i3 second gen with like 4gb of mem has a real hard time running this and it seems to be the only thing I can have open at the same time without just freezing up the computer. I guess as I sit here thinking about all of this and just the hoops I've jumped thru for simply trying to live a simpler life. I have to ask what happened that the average joe user has to have so many protections in place. Why can't you just use something anymore. What's next blood samples? This ultimately leads me to the thought why do I feel such a need to use all of these different things? Maybe in the next blog we will figure that out...
